Today I went to Penberthy to finally introduce you guys to the quidditch team! Texas A&M quidditch was founded in the fall of 2008 by quidditch fans. The team started as a two-house team that practiced on Sundays. One important thing to know is that Quidditch is now known as Quad-Ball. Warner Bros owns the “quidditch” trademark, and the sport wanted to separate itself from a possible lawsuit. The Aggies and other colleges are in the process of changing the name but they recognize the popularity of the sport being called quidditch.
The team practices at the fields every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. They usually practice on field 13. Since they are a student organization and not a club sport, they usually practice on whatever field is available. The team may be lacking numbers but it is not a problem as their spirit fills that hole. Regardless they play tournaments and other matches with other quidditch teams. It allows them to work with other teams' skill sets and strategies and makes them more adaptable as a team. The team's flexibility and willingness to work with other teams make them a great asset.
Come join me as I get to know players such as public health sophomore Emily Lewis and chemistry junior Dylan Mandel, and learn why they play this sport. The weather today was nice, and the clear skies hinted at a great day to play Quidditch.
This is not your typical sport, so I am curious to see what attracts these players. I know for a fact it is not the ability to fly on a broom. I am very excited to get to know more about how this sport works.
To my knowledge quidditch is a game where there are Two teams of seven players, they have broomsticks and oppose each other on a rectangular pitch. The goal is the objective of passing a ball through the defenders' hoops while preventing their opponents from passing it through their hoops.
A Quidditch team is composed of seven people – three Chasers, two Beaters, a Keeper, and a Seeker. They also have four balls in play. The balls are a Quaffle, two Bludgers, and a Golden Snitch. Don't be fooled though, the snitch is more of a person rather than a ball. Even the muggle sport has a twist.
It sounds pretty entertaining but I think they should use spells, granted they would never work. Also similarly to the Wizarding World game, there is a snitch. The snitch is a person wearing a golden cap that runs around the entire court. The objective is to chase the snitch down.
Also, it should interest the public to know that the team is always accepting new members. To know more about the team, go ahead and show up to one of their practices on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30-8:30. Practice is located on Penberthy Fields and more information can also be found on the teams discord,
I would also like to know where Voldemort is. And how he would feel about muggles taking something away from wizards??
Also more importantly, where is Draco Malfoy??

Coach Carlos Elarba led the team at Brooms on the Brazos tournament on Feb. 10 in Waco, TX. This was their very first tournament of the year. The T
Despite not winning, the Aggies scored 4 goals in the first game and 9 goals in the second game and also improved their overall play.
The team is preparing for a tournament near Dallas on March 1. They are also working on gaining more experience to play in Nationals, held in Round Rock from April 13-14.
The competition is called the US Quadball Cup (as I mentioned the copyright issues before) and it is the biggest quidditch-related event in the US. To learn more about the event visit https://www.usquadballcup.com/.
“We’re also on the little bit of the smaller side with our team as I have referenced so I knew people would start getting fatigued, but they were playing their hardest out there,” said Elarba. “You can see their effort and they started adapting in some of the stuff they practiced now that they got to play a game.”
I don't know about you guys but I have watched them practice quite a few times and this team does not need flying brooms and spells that curse other team members as this team is dedicated and has heart.
